About Congregation Yemei Teshuva

What is Congregation Yemei Teshuva (CYTBW)?

Congregation Yemei Teshuva is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2013/5774. Our sole mission is to provide a warm, welcoming, and meaningful High Holy Day experience — Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services — exclusively for members of Boca West Country Club, their families, and their guests. Congregation Yemei Teshuva is a seasonal Jewish congregation established to provide meaningful, inclusive, and dignified High Holy Day services for Boca West members, their families, and guests. We are not affiliated with Boca West Country Club, but we are proudly sponsored, underwritten, and managed by a dedicated group of Boca West members.

 

When does the congregation operate?
CYTBW operates exclusively during the High Holy Day season, including Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

 

Where are services held?
All services take place in the beautiful Ballroom of the Golf and Activities Center at Boca West Country Club. It's a comfortable, familiar space that helps everyone feel truly at home during these sacred days.

Is CYTBW affiliated with Boca West Country Club?

No, Congregation Yemei Teshuva is not affiliated with Boca West Country Club. It operates as an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, fully underwritten, sponsored, and managed by a dedicated group of Boca West Country Club members.

Services & Religious Experience

Who leads the services?
Our spiritual leaders include Rabbi Scott Shpeen and Cantor Shira Ginsburg, they are enhanced by a professional choir, musicians, and experienced shofar blowers. Their bios are available on our Leadership page. What services do you offer?

We hold traditional, participatory High Holy Day services led by our wonderful clergy:

  • Rosh Hashanah Evening Services

  • Rosh Hashanah Morning Services

  • Kol Nidre (Yom Kippur Evening)

  • Yom Kippur Morning Services

  • Yizkor Services

  • Concluding Neilah Service & Havdalah

What type of service should I expect?
Our services are traditional yet accessible, blending meaningful liturgy with warmth and clarity. The atmosphere is reverent, welcoming, and designed to resonate with congregants of varying levels of observance.

 

Are the services appropriate for all levels of Jewish observance?
Yes. CYTBW welcomes individuals and families from all Jewish backgrounds who are seeking a meaningful High Holy Day experience.

Tickets & Attendance

Do I need tickets to attend services?
Yes. Attendance requires advance ticket purchase due to seating and venue requirements.

Tickets are $180 each and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is general admission.

Due to the exceptionally high demand in recent years, we strongly recommend purchasing your tickets as early as possible this year.

​Each ticket grants access to all High Holy Day sessions—no separate tickets are required for individual services.

 

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are required and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis each year. Visit our Order Tickets page to purchase online or download the form, complete it, and return it with payment as instructed. Early submission is recommended as space is limited.

Is there a cost to attend?

Yes — a modest ticket donation helps cover the costs of the services, clergy, musicians, security, and facility needs. No one is turned away due to financial hardship; please reach out confidentially if assistance is needed. Tickets are currently $180 each. â€‹Each ticket grants access to all High Holy Day sessions—no separate tickets are required for individual services.

How do I purchase tickets?
Tickets are required and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis each year. Tickets may be purchased directly through our website or by submitting the ticket order form included in our annual mailing and available on our website. Please go to our Ticket Order page for more details. Early submission is recommended as space is limited. 

 

When will you receive your tickets?

Tickets will arrive by mail approximately 7 days prior to Rosh Hashanah services. Please make sure to let us know where you prefer your tickets to be mailed if different from your Boca West residence.

Are seats assigned?
Seating is not assigned. Seating is General Admission. 
​Each ticket grants access to all High Holy Day sessions—no separate tickets are required for individual services.

 

Are guests welcome?
Yes. Boca West members, their families, and invited guests are welcome to attend.

Can I bring children?

Families are warmly welcomed. (Note: Very young children sometimes find long services challenging — feel free to step out as needed.)

Donations & Support

Is Congregation Yemei Teshuva a nonprofit organization?
Yes. CYTBW is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

 

Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donation receipts are provided. 

 

How can I make a donation?

Your generous support helps keep our services meaningful and accessible. Donations are tax-deductible (EIN available upon request). You can contribute via check (payable to Congregation Yemei Teshuva). Donations may be made securely through our website or via mailed contribution forms. or contact us for other options.

How are donations used?

Yizkor Memorial Book

What is the Yizkor Memorial Book?

The Yizkor Memorial Book is a sacred listing of loved ones being remembered during the Yizkor service on Yom Kippur. It is distributed to attendees during the service and serves as a meaningful record of remembrance.

Is there also a Yizkor Memorial page on the website?

Yes. Congregation Yemei Teshuva maintains a Yizkor Memorial page on our website. This page includes the same memorial names that appear in the printed Yizkor Book and provides an additional way to honor loved ones beyond the service itself.

Where will my memorial be displayed?

Memorials are displayed:

  • In the printed Yizkor Book distributed during Yom Kippur services

  • On the Yizkor Memorial page of the Congregation Yemei Teshuva website​

   (please be sure to provide your name exactly how you would like it to be displayed)

Do I need to purchase a ticket to services in order to submit names for the Yizkor Book?

No, you do not need to purchase a ticket. ​

How do I submit names for the Yizkor Book?

Please enter each name exactly as you would like it to appear. Spelling, punctuation, and formatting will be reproduced as submitted.

How much does a Yizkor memorial cost?

Each Yizkor memorial is $18 per individual name.

Can I list a family name or group memorial?

Only one name may be listed per memorial.

No. We are unable to accept entries such as:

  • “Rosenthal Family”

  • “Beloved Parents”

  • “Our Loved Ones”

  • Group or collective memorials

Each memorial must honor one individual only, with a separate contribution for each name.

What if my Yizkor names are the same as last year?

If your memorial names are unchanged from last year, you may indicate this on the order form. Please be sure this selection is clearly marked.

What is the deadline for submitting Yizkor names?

All Yizkor memorial names must be received no later than Friday, September 11th to be included in the printed Yizkor Book.

Names received after this deadline will not appear in the printed book, but will be included on the Yizkor Memorial page of the website.

Why is there a charge for Yizkor memorials?

Yizkor memorial contributions help support the preparation of the Yizkor Book, clergy and service logistics, and the overall High Holy Day experience. Your generosity is deeply appreciated and helps sustain our congregation.

Community & Participation

Do you offer membership outside the High Holy Days?
No. CYTBW is intentionally structured as a seasonal congregation focused solely on the High Holy Days.

No formal membership is required — just Boca West Country Club membership (or being the family/guest of a member). We exist solely for the High Holy Days, so there's no annual dues or ongoing membership structure beyond ticket donations for services.

Are volunteer opportunities available?
Yes. Ushers and volunteers play an important role in our services. Please reach out to us via our Contact Page if you are interested. Information is shared prior to the holiday season.

 

Do you offer Yizkor memorial opportunities?
Yes. Congregants may participate in Yizkor Memorial listings. Details are provided on the Ticket Order page.

Logistics & Additional Information

Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Boca West Country Club is fully accessible.

 

What is the dress code?
Business or country-club appropriate attire is recommended for services.

 

How can I stay informed about upcoming services?
Updates are shared via email and posted on cytbw.org. We encourage congregants to ensure their contact information is current.
